Well, I did a little ride to Shute Harbour and Airlie Beach for lunch today. needed to get out and get some wind thru the hair. Bike handled well and I am getting used to these longer ride now. Bit different the Harley which was the most comfy bike I have owned. The BonTrike [not a bike] was the most comfy I have ever owned and ridden. There was an accident on a road that connects to the link between Airlie Bch and Proserpine. Looked like a head on with a car turning into the main road. Pics attached.

Agree there, Clem. Airlie Beach area is a beautiful place. There are many resorts and holiday unit in the area which attracts big crowds. I could live there especially up on the hillside over looking the sea.

Ride with UC last Sunday to Peter Faust Dam near Proserpine. I met up with the group as they rode past Calen. The ride to the dam was set at a comfy pace. We pulled up for a stop at Bloomsbury to allow a couple to catch up that had peeled off before I had joined with the group. Once they had joined us it was off again for the dam. The ride took us through Proserpine and 20+ km west of the town. We stood around chatting bikes and stuff for half and hour and decided to head to town for lunch. Had some tucker in a local pub and back on the road stopping again at Bloomsbury this time for fuel. The Triumph did not need any having filled at Calen before I joined in on the ride, and also the bike has a 21 litre size tank. We left Bloomsbury once all had their fuel and rode south towards Mackay. I left the group at Calen. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

It is called a Boom. It has a Ford Focus engine in it. I was riding behind it for some distance and it sticks to the bitumen on the corners real well. Reminded me of when I owned a trike and it could do 80 on a 40 bend no worries at all.

Did a ride with UC Mackay or some of them, and we rode to Midge Pt for lunch at the tavern. Was a good day for riding with clear sky and little headwind to ride against. I invited the blokes back to the St Helens Bowls Club for an ale and then on to my place for a beer and chat. Nice run and good company. Cheers, T. VVMC Poker Run 2014 Mackey was a good run and no incidents I am aware of. Started at Langfords Pub and headed to Sarina for the first stop. I picked another card and proceeded to the bar to share a drink with a couple of UC mates I met a few weeks back. The weather was holding out reasonably well though I was delayed 15 minutes at home due to a sudden downpour. The sky was full of dark clouds on the ride onto Mackay for the start of the run. There was another sprinkle just outside of Sarina as we pulled into the RSL. After Sarina we headed for Eton pub for the third stop. Eton Pub put on a complimentary sausage sizzle which was very popular with the riders. I selected another card which was not much better than the other two. I never play poker for this reason lol. After another drink and a feed it was to Kuttabul Pub for the last stop. We rode through Marian and took the Hampden Road which bypasses Mackay. At the Kuttabul I selected my last two cards and the hand I had amounted to bugger all. I had a drink and bid farewell to my mates and headed for home before the sun dipped below the horizon. About 500 participated in the run and from what I saw everyone was having a great time. Well done VVMC. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Shite it has been awhile this section has been visited. Did a ride on Sunday with a lady friend whom I have just recently met. Nice girl We did a ride from Mackay down to Hay Pt pub for lunch (nice spot)and a cuppla drinks before heading off to Grasstree Beach for a look. Nice lookout at the northern end of the beach. This beach hosts bike races once a year which is well patronised. Then it was a quick look at Campwin Beach and Sarina Beach before making our way back to Mackay. A nice ride, drink, feed and company Attachment DeletedMap of ride Attachment DeletedHay Pt Attachment DeletedGrasstree Beach Attachment DeletedCampwin Beach lookout

Went on a little ride on Wednesday to see my brilliant friend, Donna who runs the pub at Gargett. The back road from Mt Ossa to Gargett is used mainly for the haulers during the sugar cane cutting season so plenty of care when doing those twisties. Some times the narrow road is covered with gravel on the corners from traffic going onto the dirt shoulders and flicking it up. Other than that a pleasant little ride and a nice pub to have a few drinks with a great host.

Great to read your ride reports Turtle. Yes, gravel on corners can be fatal eh, glad you rode to the conditions and had a great time at the pub.

Thanks Cster and good to know that you have found it good to know!! Now there are, at least, 2 Senior Citizens that have found good to know that I was riding a Vespa 125cc....not sure...may be it was a Lambretta 150cc!! And you, Cster were riding or doing something else? Ducati & Pali
PSS. Great to post posts on the Forum!! Is there something better than sharing something good to know? I don't thing so!! Great to see you, Cster...out and about...somewhere. Really great!!

Yes Ducati, it is good to know turtle is doing OK. Will be even better to know he managed to get through Cyclone Debbie in a couple of days. I cant figure it out every time Debbie come up I think "Debbie Does" and that is playing out right now. You can bet the statistical genius's will have a Dollar value for Miss Debbie before to long. Then we'll know the true cost of What Debbie Does.

I agree, Cster!! It is important to know that everybody and**** are doing well!!
Ducati & Pali
PSS. The other day, at the Menshed, they were discussing the car accident of a next door neighbour. The members were (most of them) in copious tears. They wished that THEY were involved in a car accident and NOT their neighbour! I am not sure...probably they were discussing the 2 millions dollars win at lotto/lottery and NOT the car accident!?!?!?

The various Ulysses Club Branches of Victoria have a Breakfast club morning every month. They also have T shirts for the event. Stating "Will Ride for Coffee"
I did a similar trip today, it was a will ride for coffee trip with ric, a fellow Netrider member. We headed out after I finished my morning bus run. Met up at 9:40 in Rutherford we headed off through Maitland to Paterson nd up to Gresford where we stoped at the corner store for Coffee. Sitting there on the verandah we chatted and enjoyed the coffee, and chatted and chatted. Hour and a half's worth before we followed the bikes we had witnessed travelling that same road. Glendonbrook rd. Where as we were pummelled by the road from Paterson to Gresford and especially so after Vacy, this Glendonbrook road was smooth and easy riding. Ric and I separated at Greta and I rode across the Valley to my home for lunch arriving at 13:00 a quick bite and then took the car with aircon to work that arvo. A thoroughly enjoyable ride today. So it's true for me I will ride for coffee too.
