I have started this thread for people to post photos which may be interesting, but do not relate to any particular thread subject. This is similar to the Photography thread on TSO.
I am posting these two photos taken at Emerald, Vic, on the day of our picnic to Emerald Lake Park and Puffing Billy to show the greenness of the countryside after a winter of regular rains.
Peter.

The wife's concert day in town today, so I had an hour to kill. What better excuse to exercise the camera. This is the moat and fountains at the entrance to the National Gallery of Victoria. The Arts Centre spire. The wave sculptures next to the Arts Centre.

These women in Indian costume were being photographed on the steps beneath the Arts Centre spire. St. Pauls Cathedral spires from St. Kilda Road. A tram on St. Kilda Road outside the Arts Centre.

One of the tourist attractions in Melbourne is the horse-drawn carriages - there are at least three of them. They take tourists down Swanston Street and along St Kilda Road to the Shrine and back again. There are moves to have them removed from the streets by animal groups. This sculpture is the controversial "Vault", better known as "The Yellow Peril". It was originally erected in the Cioty Square, next to St Paul's Cathedral in Swanston Street, but drew lots of complaints. It was moved to the Yarra Bank near Spencer Street. It has been moved again to a small grassed area between apartment blocks in South Melbourne. This architectural feature is on top of an apartment tower in Southbank. When I first spotted it from down the road, it looked like untidy plumbing, but up closer, I can't work out if it is functional or purely decorative.
