Of course, of course and you know the rules of P and Q. You cannot have a precedent and deny the antecedent.
Fits in easily to a universal consciousness Greg... don't it
If its part of the universe its part of life.

Many things in the universe cannot be classed as life. And even tho the universe contains life that does not mean ergo: a universal consciousness must exist? With that logic if I eat tomatoes then I can safely draw the conclusion that this all fits in with a universal-tomato-consciousness, and all the proof I need is that tomatoes exist.
How does that work? Life is a system, consciousness is a sub-conscious idea, which is a sub-sub-conscious idea etc.
You link consciousness and life together so unconsciously in your mind that they have become the one thing, to you. A single celled Amoeba cannot, by definition, be conscious. Amoebas live, but are not conscious. Ergo: You don't need a conscience to live, proof. The sub-conscious connection you make that these two are one has no proof.
And without proof it's a hypothesis, never a fact. There is a difference between these two.

Let's keep this Forum rolling/moving/expanding!! In the Pizza Exchange Shop in Thirroul, there are NO newspapers to read for the customers. There are daily copies of the latest posts posted on the Senior Citizens Forums! Every bite to the ham & pineapple pizza is followed by a read/consultation/lively discussions on the latest posted posts.
Forge
PSS. The pizzas at the Pizza Exchange Shop are NOT extremely fantastic, but the Philosophical Dissertations are very deep and spiritually exhilarating!

Jeeeeeze and you talk about Col....... If it is in this universe it is part of life.......
This is what I wrote!

Amoeba's not having a consciousness ?.... WTF... it is life because it is a part of life. Ask Col about his pet rock
If P then Q; In philosophy it is the truth table. If you did not know prior you would have googled it. I think you have put it to the test, hence the post above... if not Q then P

You wrote: If it's part of the Universe, it's part of life.
Uranium is part of the universe, Iridium is part of the universe, but neither are part of life.
Life is part of the universe, including Amoebas. I asked why that indicates a universal-consciousness.
You answered neither, you just repeated your rant. Twice makes it true, three times even truer?

If you mean predictions .. then no, philosophy, like prayer, fails all tests. It's good at asking questions, but not at answering them.

Oops that'd be Questions or Predictive statements or Premises
