...Because, I'll have you know, several of my ancestors were rebels, and fought the Yanks. But I do live in the US, despite the efforts of my ancestors. I'm here because Sediba, who I know as Grendel, posts occasionally on boards where I'm on staff- secularcafe.org/index.php where I'm an admin, and talkfreethought.org/forum.php where I'm a moderator at present, and will eventually be an admin when we complete the merger of the two boards. Many of us there are also old farts, from assorted countries. (I'm 62, which may only qualify me as a late-middle-aged fart.) I won't be a regular presence here, because my job (I run a lawn care company) keeps me busy a lot, and because of my responsibilities at the aforementioned boards. But I did want to drop in and say hello!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loyalist_(American_Revolution)Loyalists were American colonists who remained loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolutionary War. At the time they were often called Tories, Royalists, or King's Men. They were opposed by the Patriots, those who supported the revolution and called them "persons inimical to the liberties of America".Had they had the numbers the US and the world might be a happier place, and we might see US athletes at the Commonwealth Games.

Should we be punished for our father's misdeeds.
I can only handle so much pain.

Well if they be the case then many will become their fathers, perhaps that is enough punishment.
This chappie has been quiet of late

Erm? Sock Puppet or Fellow herder. Herding cats would be like herding sheep, you starve them then bang on a drum with food in it. By day three they are trained and run to the sound of a banging drum. Or cat tin no doubt.
